Obituary of Rita Jean Moon

Funeral Services Rita Jean Moon, age 54, of Roanoke will be on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. F.W. Sheppard and Rev. Frank Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. Mrs. Moon passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014, at UAB Hospital. Survivors include her mother, Mildred Earl Lipham of Roanoke; two sons, B.J. Moon and Matthew Moon; three grandchildren, Brandon Jacob Moon, Jr., Ty Moon, and Kerra Moon; one sister, Carolyn Wilson of Roanoke; and one brother, Ronald Lipham of Tennessee. Pallbearers will be Charles Wilson, Ronald Lipham, A.J. Stephens, Willard Earl Jr., Mark Jordan, and James Norred. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Moon was born on September 5, 1960, the daughter of Jack David and Mildred Earl Lipham. She was a member of Handley Avenue Church of God and employed by Burger King. She was preceded in death by her father and her husband, Ray Eugene Moon, Jr. The family is accepting flowers or, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Rita Moon Memorial Fund c/o Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 319 College Street, Roanoke, AL 36274.
