Obituary of Sara Manley Lashley

A private graveside service for immediate family members of Sara Manley Lashley, age 79, of Wadley, AL, will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 11:00 AM from New Hope West Cemetery with Bro. Mike Brewer officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

A private family visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, from 9:00 – 10:00 AM.

Mrs. Lashley passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.  

Survivors include three daughters, Susan McGill (Randy) of Wadley, Jamie Overton of Roanoke, and Judy McCool (Tracey) of Texas; eight grandchildren, Autumn (Brian) Michalski, Zachary (Wendy) McGill, Madison McGill, Kaci (Ryan) Miller, Alyssa Cole, Taylor McCool, Masyn McCool, and Parker McCool; and seven great-grandchildren; Grayson, Maxwell, Addie, Arlee, Bryson, Renlee, and Woodson.

Pallbearers will be Zack McGill, Brian Michalski, Ryan Miller, Rodney Manley, Mike Brewer, and Blake Sheppard. Honorary pallbearers will be Freddy Brewer, Craig Manley, Tim Nolan, Tracey McCool and her nieces and nephews.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Lashley was born March 12, 1943, the daughter of Sam A. and Mittie Mae Veal Manley.  She was Christian by faith and was employed at Meadowcraft for over 35 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Harvey Lashley; and 11 siblings.
