Obituary of Mary Frances Horn

OBITUARY Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Frances Horn, of Roanoke, age 85, will be held Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 2:00 pm from the Antioch Christian Church with Dr. Frank McCook and Rev. Anthony Herren officiating. Mrs. Horn will lie in state at the church one hour before the service. Burial to follow in Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. Mrs. Horn died Monday, April 19, 2010 at the home of her daughter, Sara Singley, of LaGrange, GA. Survivors include two daughters, Sara (husband David) Singley of LaGrange, GA, Phyllis (husband Denson) Blackston of Five Points; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Harold Gross, Manley Clack, Myron Roger, Mike Coker, Steve Carden, R. L. Farmer. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Mrs. Horn was born February 3, 1925, the daughter of William Calton and Hettie Elizabeth Liles Gross. She was a member of the Antioch Christian Church and had been a textile weaver for Handley Mills and West Point Pepperell. Mrs. Horn was preceded in death by her husband, C. T. Horn; her parents; one daughter, Wanda Sanders; two sisters, Virginia Moon and Felicia Carden; one brother, William Gross; one great grand-daughter. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to favorite church or charity.
