Obituary of Earl H. Gillespie

OBITUARY Funeral services for Mr. Earl H. Gillespie, of LaFayette, age 81, will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at 2:00 pm from the Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Frank Foster and Rev. Greg Norred officiating. Burial to follow in Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 6, 2010. Mr. Gillespie died Sunday, April 4, 2010 at his home. Survivors include his wife, Helen Anna Marie Knott Gillespie of LaFayette; one daughter, Bonnie Lynn (husband Keith) Yerta of Roanoke; two sons, Earl Lee (wife Barbara) Gillespie of Milton, FL, Gary Alvin (wife Sharon) Gillespie of Rock Mills; one sister, Catherine Kruger of Sykesville, MD; nine grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Rodney Knott, Jason Gillespie, Joshua Yerta, Billy Wenck, Robbie Wenck, John George, Patrick George and John Kruger. Mr. Gillespie was born March 14, 1929, the son of William and Ruth Stonesifer Gillespie. He was a member of Rock Mills Church of the Nazarene and had worked for Avondale Mills. Mr. Gillespie was preceded in death by his parents. Flowers will be accepted or donations to the Rock Mills Church of the Nazarene.
