OBITUARY
Funeral services for Minister Tameka Ani Higgins, of Roanoke, age 35, will be held Monday, October 19, 2009, at 11:00 am from the Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bishop Donald Lancaster officiating. Burial to follow in the Rock Mills Baptist Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 18, 2009.
Minister Higgins died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at her home.
Survivors include one son, Justin Tyrelle Higgins of Roanoke; her mother, Christine Higgins of Roanoke; several Aunts and Uncles; and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Mario Higgins, Robert Dozier, Geraldo Higgins, Kerry Drake, Carl Cooley, Lamar Lovelace, Leroy Dozier, Min. Scotty Patillo and Anthony Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Min. Michael Whatley, Herbert Whitlow, Min. Anthony Billingsley, Rev. Bruce Alford, Rev. Bruce Williams, Ed Wilson, Michael Marable, Benjamin Staples, and special friend. Adrian Bell.
Minister Higgins was born March 12, 1974, the daughter of Johnny Scales and Christine Higgins. She was a member of the True Deliverance Ministries and had been a post call service agent for Intercall, West Point, GA. Minister Higgins was preceded in death by her father.
