Obituary of Ruby Burgess Cosper

Funeral services for Ruby Lee Cosper, age 97, will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 2:00 PM from Rock Mills Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, December 05, 2014. Mrs. Cosper will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Saturday.
Mrs. Cosper passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014, at her residence.
Survivors include one daughter, Celia Whaley of Roanoke; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kiley Laws, Chris Whaley, Russ Whaley, Rob Whaley, Nick Whaley, and Rich Whaley. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Nimon and Jake Nimon.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Cosper was born on June 1, 1917, the daughter of Marvin Lee and Sally
Towler Burgess. She was a member of Rock Mills Methodist Church and a textile inspector for West Point Pepperell for 33 years. Mrs. Cosper was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Welcome Cosper; two sisters, Irma Jean Earnest and Loree Kirby; and two brothers, M.L. Burgess and Curtis Burgess.
The family is accepting flowers or, in lieu of flowers, donations to LifeChoice Hospice.
