Funeral services for Gilbert H. Riddle, age 89, of Roanoke, will be held Friday, November 21, 2014, at 12:30 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bishop F.W. Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 AM-12:30 PM on Friday, November 21.
Mr. Riddle died Saturday, November 15, 2014, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
Survivors include three sons, Gilbert Riddle, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, Grandville Aaron Riddle of Hogansville, GA, and Randy James Riddle of Roanoke; one grandson, Wayne Crawford; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Jimmy E. Riddle of West Virginia and Robert Riddle of Summersville, WV.
A Roanoke resident for the past 15 years, Mr. Riddle was born in Camden, West Virginia on December 13, 1924, the son of Clarence and Delphi Spencer Riddle. He was a WWII Army veteran. Mr. Riddle attended Handley Avenue Church of God and owned/operated Riddle's Antiques. He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Ara Riddle.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Quattlebaum Funeral Home would be greatly appreciated.
