Funeral services for Doel Curtis Hester, age 89, of Phenix City, will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 1:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Junior Bowen officiating. Burial will follow at East Napoleon Church of Christ.
The family will receive friends at Quattlebaum Funeral Home (Roanoke, Alabama) from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Monday, September 8, 2014.
Mr. Hester died September 3, 2014 at his home.
Survivors include his companion, Lila Webb of Phenix City; one brother, Charlie Will Hester of Anniston; one niece, Pam Bacon; several nieces, nephews, wonderful friends, and neighbors.
A Wedowee native, Mr. Hester was born on April 27, 1925, son of Larkin and Nattie Bowen Hester. He was a WWII Army veteran, attended Napoleon Church of Christ and had been employed with Food Giant. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dolphus Hester; one nephew, Phil Hester.
