Obituary of Dorothy Louise Eachus

Funeral services for Dorothy Louise Eachus, age 90, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2014, at 2:00 PM from Roanoke First United Methodist Church with Pastor Ralph Barrow officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2014. Mrs. Eachus passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Traylors Nursing Center in Roanoke. Survivors include: two daughters, Evelyn Sargent of Mount Desert, Maine, and Lorraine Knoll (husband, Edward) of Roanoke; three sons, Richard H. Eachus (wife, Isabel) of Sunset, FL, John W. Eachus (wife, Martha) of Gatlinburg, TN, and Edward F. Eachus of Orlando, FL; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Edward Knoll, Kyle Knoll, Ryan Gunn, Jerry Reaves, Paul McMurray, and Ronnie Irvin. A Pennsylvania native, Mrs. Eachus was born on November 5, 1923, the daughter of Leroy and Blanche Hamm John. She was a member of Roanoke First United Methodist Church and was a housewife. Mrs. Eachus was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Howard Eachus; three sisters and two brothers. The family is accepting flowers or, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roanoke First United Methodist Church.
