Ruth Florence Snyder, age 79, of Roanoke died Saturday, August 09, 2014, at Wedowee Hospital. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Survivors include two daughters, Angela Barrett (husband, Barrett) of Roanoke and Jan Butler of Douglasville, GA; two sons, Mike Morman (wife, Rosemary) of Roanoke and Pete Morman (wife, Terry) of LaGrange, GA; two brothers, Perry Shelnutt (wife, Anna) of Roanoke and Grover Shelnutt (wife, Suzanne) of Valley; eight grand- children and several great-grandchildren.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Snyder was born on March 2, 1935, the daughter of Howard and Amy Townley Shelnutt. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church and had been employed with Palm Beach Company.
