Funeral services for Ray Eugene Moon, Jr., age 55 of Roanoke will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. F.W. Sheppard and Rev. Jack Vilder officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 5.
Mr. Moon passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Jean Moon of Roanoke; two sons, B.J. Moon and Matthew Moon, both of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Brandon Jacob Moon, Jr., Ty Moon, and Kerra Landers; his mother, JoAnn Moon of Roanoke; one sister, Lucy Butler of Roanoke; and one brother, Dan Moon of Rock Mills.
Pallbearers will be Justin Fincher, Charles Wilson, Ronald Lipham, Mark Jordan, James Norred, and A.J. Stephen.
A lifelong Roanoke resident, Mr. Moon was born on October 29, 1958, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the son of Ray Eugene Moon, Sr., and JoAnn Mayo Moon. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and was a sales clerk at Carport Auto Parts. Mr. Moon was preceded in death by his father; and two nephews, Derick Fincher and Todd Wilson.
The family is accepting flowers or, in lieu of flowers, donations made be made to Ray E. Moon Memorial Fund c/o Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 319 College Street, Roanoke, AL 36274.
