Graveside services for Handley "Bud" Hudson, age 95, of Five Points, will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at 2:00 pm at Randolph Memory Gardens with Rev. Rusty Williams and Rev. Bill Williams officiating.
The family will receive friends at Quattlebaum Funeral Home for one hour beginning at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, July 22nd.
Mr. Hudson died Saturday, July 19, 2014, at his home.
Survivors include one daughter, Helen Powers of Highland Village, Texas; one brother, Waymon Hudson of Standing Rock; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Neal Hudson, Bobby Jones, Carl Bartlett, Byron Cobb, Bobby Durham and Jeff Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Denny Pounds, Tom Hudson, Ken Wesson and Maxie Norred.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Hudson was born September 5, 1918, the son of John Thomas and Kate Holliday Hudson. He was a WWII Army veteran and a member of Standing Rock Methodist Church. He had owned/operated Baker Brothers Grocery Store. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Durham Hudson.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Chattahoochee Hospice (6 Medical Park, Valley, AL 36854) or Standing Rock Methodist Church (c/o Joyce Shawd, 5140 County Road 268, Five Points, AL 36855).
