Obituary of Henry Grady Bailey, Jr.

Funeral services for Henry Grady "Junior" Bailey, Jr., age 78, of Roanoke, will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 11:00 am at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jamie Taylor and Rev. Tim Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 15th. Mr. Bailey died Monday, July 14, 2014, at Traylor's. Survivors include his wife, Clara P. "Bobbie" Bailey of Roanoke; two daughters, Lisa Bailey Rowan (husband, Pelham) of Birmingham and Kim O. Watson (husband, Joe) of Wetumpka; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Bradley of Tallahassee, FL, and Patricia Willoughby of Atlanta; one brother, Doug Bailey of Roanoke. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Kevin Bailey, Meachum Bailey, Phil Reaves, and Randy Mickle. Mr. Bailey was born May 16, 1936, the son of Henry Grady Bailey, Sr. and Ethel Meacham Bailey. He was a member of Rock Mills United Methodist Church and had been self-employed as a carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Ruth Mickle, Jeanette Wellborn, Margie Reaves, and Barnell Nix; two brothers, Braxton "Bud" Bailey and Quinton Bailey.
