Obituary of Mattie Frances Cosper Cumbee Brown

Funeral services for Mattie Frances Cosper Cumbee Brown, age 93, of Montgomery, formerly of Roanoke, will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 2:00 pm at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Adrian Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 pm on Saturday, July 12th. Mrs. Brown died Friday, July 4, 2014, at Tallassee Health and Rehab. Survivors include her son, Maxie Cumbee (wife, Sherry) of Montgomery; two grandchildren, Lisa and Angie; four great-grandchildren, Mandy, Mallory, Macy, and Michael; one great-great-grandchild, Harper. Mrs. Brown was born July 5, 1920, the daughter of John Henry and Lura Jim Ward Cosper. She was a member of Rockmills Methodist Church and had been employed as a motel manager for Ranch Motel in Roanoke. She was preceded in death by first husband, John Robert Cumbee; second husband, Jesse Milford Brown; two sisters, Nora Looser and Flora Jackson; one brother, Welcome Cosper. The family will accept flowers or contributions to Rockmills Methodist Church.
