Obituary of Fred L. Pearson

Funeral services for Fred L. Pearson, age 89, of Wadley will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014, at 10:30 AM from Wadley First United Methodist Church with Revs. Fred Webster, Zenus Windsor, and Luke Finkelstein officiating. Burial will follow at Wadley Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, June 22, 2014. Mr. Pearson will lie in state for one hour prior to services beginning on Monday. Mr. Pearson passed away Saturday, June, 21, 2014, at Lineville Health and Rehabilitation. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Adair Pearson of Wadley; two sons, Fred L. Pearson, Jr., (wife, Paige) of Auburn, and Alan A. Pearson of Wadley; four grandchildren, Stone, Taite, Max, and Vann Pearson; sister-in-law, Sarah D. Pearson; and a host of nieces and nephews. A Wadley native, Mr. Pearson was born on October 9, 1924, the son of Morgan and Florence Harris Pearson. He was a member of Wadley First United Methodist Church and owner of Pearson's Grocery. Mr. Pearson was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Milton Pearson; and two sisters, Sarah Robert Darden and Mildred Pearson. The family will accept flowers or, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wadley First United Methodist Church or Wadley Cemetery.
