Obituary of John Wayne Johnson

Funeral services for John Wayne Johnson, age 46, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 2:00 PM CST from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donald Spradlin officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Baptist Cemetery. The family requests casual dress for the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-9:00 PM CST on Friday, May 23, 2014. Mr. Johnson passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Betts Johnson of Roanoke; one daughter, Mollie-Grace Johnson of Roanoke; one son, Jasper Johnson of Roanoke; mother, Evelyn Ledford of Douglasville, GA; father-in-law, Larry Betts of Five Points; sister, Wanda (husband, Joey) Holcomb of Douglasville, GA; two nephews, Joseph (wife, Susan) Holcomb of Virginia Beach, VA, and Dakota Holcomb of Douglasville, GA; and one great-niece, Ellie Holcomb of Virginia Beach, VA. A Cullman County native and long-time resident of Douglasville, Georgia, Mr. Johnson was born on June 16, 1967, the son of Lewis Edward Johnson and Evelyn Crook Ledford. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was manager at Roanoke Advanced Auto Parts. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his father; his stepfather, Donald Ledford; grandparents, Claudy and Ruth Johnson and John and Flora Crook; and mother-in-law, Diane Betts.
