Funeral services for Shirley Allen, age 72, of Roanoke, will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at 2:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tim Steffey officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen died on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Traylor Nursing Center.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 12th from 5:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Survivors include two daughters, LeJuan Mitchell of Birmingham and Delisha Gowan of Anniston; two sons, Jeffrey Allen of Lineville and Chris Allen of Woodland; thirteen grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Timmy Mitchell, Danny Mitchell, Jamie Norred, Scotty Daniel, Stacey Heard, and Scott Dukus. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Mrs. Allen was born May 4, 1942, the daughter of James Buster and Sallie Lillian Florence Clark. She was a member of First Church of God and had been employed as a sales associate with Dress for Less. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Ray Allen; her parents; sister, Irene Banks; one grandson, Allen Mitchell.
