Funeral services for Sarah Jemima Clementine Pike Knight, age 79, of Roanoke will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at 2:00 PM from Forest Home Christian Church with Darden Arrington, Jerry Pike, and Lee Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Pike Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Mrs. Knight will lie in state for one hour prior to services beginning on Thursday, May 8.
Mrs. Knight passed away Monday, May 5, 2014, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
Survivors include her husband, Clifford Knight of Roanoke; one daughter, Denia Faye Knight of Roanoke; two sons, Andy Eli Knight (wife, Kathy) and David Duron Knight, both of Roanoke; eight grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Pate of Roanoke.
Pallbearers will be Randy Knight, Lee Owens, David Owens, Craig Hand, Jared Owens, and Michael Owens.
A Roanoke native, Mrs. Knight was born on June 2, 1934, the daughter of Elbert D. and Irene Cumi Folsom Pike. She was a member of Worldwide Church of God and was a machine operator for Palm Beach. Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Randal Lee Knight; one granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Knight; one great-grandson, Jason Knight; two sisters, Ruby Grace Arrington and Faris Bethany Arrington; and three brothers, Herbert, Recell, and David Pike.
