Funeral services for Julie Kirby Moree, 68, of Alexandria, formerly of Roanoke, will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014, at 12:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gary Henderson and Rev. Sandy Felkins officiating. Burial will follow at White's Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 am on Monday, April 21st. Mrs. Moree passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, at her home. Survivors include: one step-daughter, Belinda K. Blackburn (Glenn) of Anniston; one step-son, James E. Moree, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be James E. Moree, Jr., Bill Ward, Frank Hodges, Tim Kirby, Johnny Williams, and Glenn Blackburn. A Roanoke native, Mrs. Moree was born on September 3, 1945, the daughter of Hurren Waites and Mattie Lou Taylor Kirby. She was a secretary at Amoco and was a member of White's Chapel Methodist Church. Mrs. Moree was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James E. Moree, Sr.; two sisters, Anita Kirby Williams and Eulette Kirby Ward; four brothers, Jimmy Kirby, Weyburn Kirby, George Kirby, and Doyle Kirby.
