Funeral services for Terrell "Chess" Robinson, 83, of Roanoke, will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at 12:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Mike Fisher officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM on Saturday, April 19.
Mr. Robinson passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.
Survivors include: one granddaughter, Shasta Robinson Yawn of Roanoke; one sister, Sue Parmer of Roanoke; and two brothers, Junior Robinson and Buck Robinson, both of Roanoke.
A Roanoke native, Mr. Robinson was born on July 13, 1930, the son of Coy Jefferson and Beulah Mae Browning Robinson. He was a weaver at Handley Mills and served several years on Roanoke City Council. Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Myra Nell Robinson; one son, Terrell "Punk" Robinson; and two sisters, Pauline Mitchum and Betty Whaley.
