Obituary of Clara Ann Ussery Brown

Funeral services for Clara Ann Ussery Brown, age 78, of Roanoke, will be held Monday, April 14, 2014, at 1:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gordon Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday. Mrs. Brown died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at her son's home in Fayetteville, Georgia. Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Brown of Franklin, Tn.; three sons, Radney Brown (wife, Carol) of Roanoke, Douglas Brown (wife, Mary) of Roanoke, Jeff Brown (wife, Brook) of Fayetteville, Ga.; two sisters, Eleanor Taylor and Florene Weathers, both of Wedowee; two brothers, Carey Ussery of McDonough, Ga. and Wayne Ussery of Roanoke; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Joey Brown, Tim Jones, Spencer Brown, Nathan Brown, Dempsey Roberts and Denny Cole. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Brown was born March 1, 1936, daughter of Floyd and Burdie Butler Ussery. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and had been employed with Sears. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jarrell Brown.
