Obituary of Sandy Sanford Holliday

Funeral services for Sandy Sanford Holliday, age 66, of Roanoke, will be held Friday, January 31, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Richie Farrow officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 30th. Mr. Holliday died Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at his home. Survivors include his wife, Re Bryant Holliday; two sons, Sean Holliday of Birmingham and Shay Holliday (Alicia) also of Birmingham; a brother, Phil Holliday of Wedowee; two grandchildren, Hunter and Chandlar; a loving family and many friends. Pallbearers will be Matthew Brown, Marc Jackson, Chris Taylor, Colby Holloway, Coy Holloway, Scott Holloway and Chris Holloway. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Valentine, Eli Ramsey, Cale Holloway, Kevin Ramsey, Rick Valentine and Brandon Truitt. A Randolph County native, Mr. Holliday was born July 29, 1947, son of Horace Worth and Irma Perry Holliday. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama; an Army veteran during the Vietnam War; and a member of High Pine Baptist Church. He served as Municipal Judge for the City of Roanoke and had owned/operated his own law firm in Roanoke for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, William Holliday.
