Funeral services for Christopher Earl Tyler, age 29, of Roanoke, will be held Monday, January 20, 2014, at 2:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Sister Carolyn Hanner and Rev. Keith Benefield officiating. Burial will follow at Potash Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, January 19th.
Mr. Tyler died Friday, January 17, 2014, at Wedowee Hospital.
Survivors include one daughter, Bailey Annmarie Tyler of Panama City, FL; one son, David Gabe Tyler of Panama City, FL; grandparents, Leland & Lois Smith of Jacksonville, FL and William Daniel Tyler of Virginia Beach, VA; one sister, Virginia Marie Smith (Anthony) of Roanoke; two brothers, Daniel Jae Tyler (Candy) of Roanoke and Joshua Dewayne Tyler (Amanda) of Roanoke.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Tyler was born August 18, 1984, son of David Jae and Patricia Ann Kelley Tyler. He was a Marine veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and had been employed with Powertech America Inc. He was preceded in death by his parents, David & Patricia Tyler and grandparents, Earnest "Buck" and Virginia Rowe Kelley.
