Funeral services for Bobby Wayne Adcock, age 63, of Roanoke, will be held Monday, January 13, 2014, at 11:00 am from Roanoke First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Barrow officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, January 12th.
Mr. Adcock died Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Bethany House in Auburn.
Survivors include his wife, Joye Royston Adcock of Roanoke; one daughter, Allison Bryant (Jeff) of Newnan, Ga.; one son, Collin Adcock (Emily) of Auburn; three grandchildren, Grayson Bryant, Colton Adcock and Kennedy Adcock; his mother, Mary Adcock of Auburn; one sister, Mary Lynn Nelson of LaFayette; two brothers, Jimmy Adcock of Trussville and Joe Adcock of LaFayette.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Adcock, Jere Adcock, Paul McMurray, Walter Sudduth, Johnny Williams and Billy Royston. Members of the First Methodist Men's Bible Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mr. Adcock was born July 24, 1950, son of Carlos and Mary Johnson Adcock. He was a graduate of Auburn University and a member of Roanoke First United Methodist Church. He had been Director of the State Chemical Lab in Auburn and retired in 2012 after 38 years' service with the Department of Agriculture and Industries. He was preceded in death by his father.
