Obituary of Waydene Branch Taylor

Funeral services for Waydene Branch Taylor, age 65, of LaFayette, will be held Monday, September 23, 2013 at 2:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Revs. Paul Howard, Jerry Wheeles and Bobby Burroughs officiating. Burial will follow at Corinth Christian Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 pm (Central time) on Sunday, September 22nd. Ms. Taylor died Saturday, September 21, 2013, at Bethany House in Auburn. Survivors include two sons, Howard Scott Taylor (Michelle) of West Point, Ga. and Durwood Kerry Taylor (Marie) of Columbus, Ga.; one granddaughter, Abby Taylor; ex-husband, Gene Taylor; two brothers, Wilson Branch of Lanett and Wayne Branch of LaFayette. She is also survived by her aunt, Gayther Newby, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Gregory Kirk, Billy Knight, Dennis Branch, Tommy Kirk, John Lane Perry and Douglas Kirk. Ms. Taylor was born April 17, 1948, daughter of J. C. and Linnie Smith Branch. She attended LaFayette Heights Church and had been employed as an inspector with Uniroyal. She enjoyed walking in the woods, driving in the country and spending time with her family, especially her sons and granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Howard Tony Knight.
