Funeral services for Mary Jacqueline "Jackie" Tidwell, age 65, of Roanoke, will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Zenus Windsor officiating. Burial will follow at the New Hope Congregational Christian Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013.
Ms. Tidwell died Monday, September 16, 2013, at Clay County Hospital.
Survivors include one sister, Jennifer Caldwell (husband, Reggie) of Roanoke; two brothers, Donald Tidwell of Wedowee and David Tidwell of Valley; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives.
A lifelong resident of Roanoke, Ms. Tidwell was born on October 16, 1947, the daughter of Melvin B. and Frances Lane Tidwell. She was a member of New Hope Congregational Christian Church and had been employed as a secretary/book keeper with East Alabama Lumber Company. Ms. Tidwell was preceded in death by her parents.
