Obituary of Iva Lee Jones

Funeral services for Mrs. Iva Lee Jones, of Wadley, age 90, will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at 2:00 pm from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Craft officiating. Mrs. Jones will lie in state at the church one hour before the service. Burial to follow in the adjoining church cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 12, 2009. Mrs. Jones died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at her home. Survivors include one son, Jimmy Jones of Wadley; one daughter-in-law, Sara Jones of Wadley; two grandsons, Richard (wife Mary) Jones Jr. of Wadley, Timothy Brandon (wife Brandy) Jones of Roanoke; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Annie White of Roanoke, Melba Waldrep of Roanoke; two brothers, T. J. "June" Waldrep of Wadley, Bobby Waldrep of Roanoke. Pallbearers will be James Waldrep, Jerry Waldrep, Tommy Waldrep, Patrick Waldrep and Roy Jones Mrs. Jones was born January 26, 1919, the daughter of Robert Lesley and Lee Ella Bassett Waldrep. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and had been a textile spinner for Handley Mills. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, L. Z. Jones; one son, Charles Jones; four brothers, J. W. Waldrep, Ford Waldrep, Fred Waldrep and Herbert Waldr
