Obituary of James Brittian Ramsey

Funeral services for James Brittian Ramsey, age 76, of Roanoke, will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Brewer and Rev. Bill Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 20th. Mr. Ramsey died Sunday, August 18, 2013, at his home. Survivors include his wife, Annie Lee Jennings Ramsey of Roanoke; three daughters, Kathy Jo McCormick Hall of Roanoke, Christy Ann Morgan of Roanoke, Lisa Michelle Ramsey Brown of LaGrange; one son, Marcus Earl McCormick of Roanoke; seven grandchildren, including a special grandson, Andrew Peyton Brown of Roanoke; one sister, Brenda White of Roanoke; one brother, Jacky Ramsey, also of Roanoke. A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mr. Ramsey was born April16, 1937, son of John Henry and Marie Rollins Ramsey. He was an Army veteran, a member of the Neighborhood House of Prayer and had been employed with Handley Mills and Candlewick Yarn Mills. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wayne Ramsey; two sisters, Betty Earl and Peggy Canada.
