Funeral services with military honors for George Dean Pollard, age 71, of Roanoke, will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at 10:00 am from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Frank Foster Jr. officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, August 12th.
Mr. Pollard died Saturday, August 10th at Wedowee Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Annette H. Pollard of Roanoke; two sons, Dean F. Pollard and John L. Pollard, both of Albany, Ga.; two step-sons, Russell Cook of Franklin, Ga. and Paul Cook of Roanoke; one sister, Doris Jean Hadaway of Lanett; one brother, Jimmy T. Pollard of Opelika; six grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
A former resident of LaGrange and Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Pollard was born October 14, 1941 at West Point, Georgia, the son of C. B. and Mildred Pearl Carpenter Pollard. He was a Vietnam veteran and a retired Air Force Staff Sargent with 20 years of service.
