Funeral service for Ollie Mae Payne, age 89, of Lanett, formerly of Roanoke, will be held Thursday, July 11, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Levens Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 10th.
Mrs. Payne died Monday, July 8, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Lanett.
Survivors include one sister, Betty Cantrell of Atlanta; one brother, Harold Duffie of Milltown; four grandchildren; Master Sgt Donald G.(wife Jennifer) Duffie, Retired, Ronald J. (wife Lou) Duffie, Susan Duffie and Cheif Angie (husband Steve) Spates, eight great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Payne was born January 10, 1924, the daughter of Vasser Lee and Cora Lee Nix Duffie. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arvel Singleton; one sister, Dorothy Wilder; one brother, Johnny Duffie; and one son, Gene Duffie.
