Obituary of David Michael Mitchell

Funeral services for Michael Mitchell, age 38, of Roanoke will be held Sunday, June 23, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. from Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Saturday, June 22nd. Mr. Mitchell will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the services beginning at 2:00 pm on Sunday. Mr. Mitchell died Thursday, June 20, 2013, in LaGrange. He is survived by two daughters, Olivia Mitchell and Breanna Mitchell both of Roanoke; one son, Hunter Mitchell of Roanoke; his parents, Gail and Harold Heard of Roanoke; father David Mitchell and Becky Mitchell of Roanoke; one sister, Stephanie Cole of Roanoke; two brothers, Wayne Edmondson and Matt Mitchell both of Roanoke;grandmother, Sylvia Mitchell and great-grandmother, Jean Heard, both of Roanoke. Pallbearers will be Bryan Pike, Donnie Grant, Wayne Edmondson, Matthew Mitchell, Rob Smith, Jonathan Caldwell, Michael Green, Nick Cole and Joe Hunt. A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mr. Mitchell was born December 8, 1974, son of David Kenneth Mitchell and Brenda Gail Strickland Heard.
