Obituary of Elizabeth Phillips Lee

Funeral services for Elizabeth Phillips Lee, age 95, of LaFayette, will be held Friday, April 5, 2013, at 2:00 pm from Antioch Christian Church with Rev. Anthony Herren, Rev. Floyd Carmack and Rev. Stanley Yarbrough officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 4th. Mrs. Lee will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning at 1:00 pm on Friday. Mrs. Lee died Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Traylor Retirement Center. Survivors include a son-in-law, Wyatt Carl Lane (Phyllis) of Roanoke; grandson, James Wyatt (Ann) of LaFayette; great-grandsons, Cecil Lane, Lee Lane and Cody Lane; one brother, Hiriam S. Phillips Jr. of Rockford; four nephews and two nieces. Members of Antioch Christian Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. A lifelong Chambers County resident, Mrs. Lee was born September 25, 1917, daughter of Hiriam Smith Phillips and Ada Pearl Sims Phillips. She was a member of Antioch Christian Church and had retired from the Palm Beach Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Lee; daughter, Linda Lane; sister, Julia Myrtle Arnett. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Antioch Christian Church or Antioch Cemetery Fund (c/o Frank Benford, 3461 Co Rd 241, Roanoke, AL 36274).
