OBITUARY
Funeral services for Bernice Wilson Burson, age 93, of Roanoke, will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, December 2, 2012, from Napoleon Church of Christ with Bro. Terry Langley and Bro. Don Snow. Mrs. Burson will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial to follow in adjoining church cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Lee Cobb, John Brown, Jeff Burson, Tim Wilson, Tony Wilson, Tommy West, Manley Clack, Bo Cobb, Neil Johnson, Trent Johnson and Trae Johnson.
Mrs. Burson died, Friday, November 30, 2012 at her home.
Mrs. Burson is survived by two daughters, Paula Lambert and husband Joe of Roanoke, Pamela Johnson and husband Mark of Roanoke; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren.
Mrs. Burson was born July 18, 1919, the daughter of Alious Elonza and Frances Jane Shaw Wilson. She was a member of the Napoleon Church of Christ, had been an Elementary School Teacher for Randolph, Heard, Muscogee County in Georgia, Clayton County in Georgia and a Day Care Operator. Mrs. Burson was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Burson; nine brothers and sisters; one step-daughter, Mary Francis McGuire.
