I tell the story often of when we were kids visiting our grandmother in Roanoke (when Bob lived there too). Bob would fall asleep at church (or just close his eyes, ONCE) and uncle Roy would order Bob to bed while the rest of us were visiting at Mamma's. Mamma's house had basically two rooms, one was the dining room (with a bed) and a large living room with the TV, a piano, sitting furniture and a bed. Bob would be in the bed while the rest of us visited and I thought that was so indicative of how Uncle raised Bob. As an adult Bob adored his dad :-)

Quattlebaum’s was founded in 1930 by Robert B. Quattlebaum on Roanoke’s West Point Street. Relocated to Maple Drive, Quattlebaum Funeral Home was just across from Knight Sanatorium for many years. In 1953, a new building was constructed on College Street – where the funeral home is today.
