Obituary of Sonia Ann Towler Anglin

Graveside services for Sonia Ann Towler Anglin, age 85, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 3:15 PM at High Pine Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Tim Satterwhite officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-3:00 PM on Saturday, December 21, 2024, before services begin.

Sonia passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at her residence.

Survivors include: one daughter, Judy Burdette (Kenny) of Blue Ridge, GA; two sons, Jack Anglin, Jr. (Cheryl) of Tampa, FL, and Joey Anglin of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Justin Burdette, Branden Anglin (Jensen), and Chris Ransom (Alexis); two great-grandchildren, Finnan Ransom and Clarke Ransom; one sister, Brenda Imke; two nieces, Denise Imke-Lucas (Andrew) and Diana Dagostino (Scott); and several great-nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Justin Burdette, Branden Anglin, Joey Anglin, Jack Anglin, Jr., Kenny Burdette, Craig Anglin, David Satterwhite, and Chris Ransom.

A Randolph County native, Sonia was born on February 26, 1939, the daughter of Elmer Denson and Rebecca Estelle Keeble Towler.  She was a member of High Pine Baptist Church where she was a deacon’s wife and sang in the choir.  Sonia worked as a seamstress at Palm Beach and then as a deli hostess at Publix.  She loved gardening, canning, and cooking.  Sonia was a fabulous cook and cooking for her family was her love language.  She loved the Lord, gospel music, and playing the piano.  Sonia also had tremendous love for her family and was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Aubrey Jackson “Big Jack” Anglin, Sr.
