Obituary of Deborah Meigs
Funeral services for Deborah V. Meigs, age 70, of Daviston will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 1 pm at Mountain Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Whaley and Rev. Turk Holy officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the church from 12 on Sunday before services begin.
Ms. Meigs (known to some as Gabby) passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the home of her niece.
Survivors include: two sons, Danny Harmon of Heflin and Robert Caldwell of Wadley, one granddaughter Willow Caldwell of Wadley, one sister, Donna (Billy) Key of Wedowee and one brother, Jeff (Karen) Napier of Franklin, Ga. In later years of her life, a lost sister was found, Ann Denicke of Florida whom she hadn’t met, a host of nieces and nephews that she was very proud of. She was also survived by a Special friend, Eli Meigs of Sparkling Springs and three special nieces Tilina (CJ) Cummings, Crystal (Jarvis) Atkinson, and Courtney Rather who was also her caregivers.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Napier, Justin Napier, Josh Meigs, Trae Heath, Jmar Atkinson, and Dontae Kelley.
A Randolph County native, Ms. Meigs was born on Jan 5th, 1954, the daughter of Lemmer Louise Perry Harmon. She was Baptist by faith and a member of the Mountain Springs Baptist Church and before becoming disabled, she worked as a cook for the Lighthouse making many friends that became family along the way. Ms. Meigs was proceeded in death by her mother, one infant son Ronald David Caldwell; three sisters Jennifer Arrington, Delilah Rather, and Renee Akins; and her stepfathers, Benny Harmon and Joe Fincher.
Memorials may be floral or donations made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home to go toward final expenses.
