Obituary of Rebecca Ann Smith

Funeral services for Rebecca Ann Smith, age 69, of Roanoke will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Zack Culbertson officiating.  Burial will follow at Highway Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

Ms. Smith passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Traylor’s Nursing Center in Roanoke.

Survivors include: one daughter, Heather Culbertson (Zack) of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Cayson Culbertson, Colton Culbertson, Chloe Culbertson, and Caitlyn Culbertson; two sisters, Susan Carter (Junior) of LaGrange, GA, and Benita Rollins of Wedowee; and one brother, Earl Story (Ann) of Byron, GA.

Pallbearers will be Grant Culbertson, Josh Culbertson, Justin Parmer, Daniel Brown, Cayson Culbertson, and Alec Rollins.  Colton Culbertson will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

A Wedowee native, Ms. Smith was born on November 9, 1954, the daughter of Robert and Dorothy Cummings Story.  She worked in customer service for Intercall in West Point, GA, before retiring.  Ms. Smith loved her grandbabies, Alabama football, and being at the beach.  She also enjoyed crafting of any kind, especially crocheting, cross-stitching, and painting.  Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her parents.
