Obituary of Jeannie Oglesby
Graveside services for Jeannie S. Oglesby (The Sucker Lady of Roanoke), age 73, of Roanoke, will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Memory Hill Gardens in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, with Bro. Dolan Davis officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Quattlebaum Funeral Home in Roanoke, Alabama, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
Ms. Oglesby passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Wellstar West Georgia in Lagrange, Georgia.
Survivors include her husband, Richard (Rick) Oglesby of Roanoke; sisters, Margaret Graham of Tuscaloosa and Melinda (Andrew) Ramage of Tuscaloosa; niece, April Harbin of Tuscaloosa; nephew, Lawrence (Lisa) Graham of Tuscaloosa; great-nephew John Dairell (Marli) Harbin; great-nieces, Lauren (Conor) Rector and Ellen Marie Harbin; and six additional great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be Frank DelValle, Andrew Ramage, Lawrence Graham, John Dairell Harbin, Ellen Marie Harbin, and Conor Rector.
A native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Ms. Oglesby was born on April 19, 1951, the daughter of H.Y. Smith and Juanita Jones Smith. Ms. Oglesby attended the University of Alabama and received a BS degree in business and MS degree from LaGrange College. She was a friend of the Randolph County Learning Center. She served as a project manager at Amoco-BP. She was preceded in death by her parents.
