Obituary of Dennis James Hollis
Funeral services for Dennis James Hollis, age 70, of Wedowee, will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Faith Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Whaley, Bro. Levi Wyatt and Bro. Daniel Joiner officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, May 27, 2024. Mr. Hollis will lie in state at the church beginning at 1:00 pm for one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
Mr. Hollis passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at his home in Wedowee.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Donna Pitts Hollis of Wedowee; one son, Keith Rudasill (Jaime) of Dallas, GA; one daughter, Tiffany Carter (Ed); five grandchildren, Kyle Rudasill, Ethan Carter, Ella Carter, Kollin Rudasill, and Kaleb Rudasill; two sisters, Lynn Hays (Mike) of Hiram, GA and Patricia Tidwell (Joey) of Heyworth, Illinois; one brother, Ricky Hollis (Veronica) of Villa Rica, GA.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Carter, Kyle Rudasill, Kaleb Rudasill, Kollin Rudasill, Michael Hays, and Danny O’Brien. Alex Martinez will serve as honorary pallbearer.
A native of Lithia Springs, Georgia, Mr. Hollis was born October 9, 1953, the son of Cecil and Frances Thomason Hollis. He owned/operated D & D Auto Glass in Lithia Springs for 23 years. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and served as song leader there and was the principal at Faith Christian Academy. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and loved to preach. He had a jail ministry and shared the gospel in nursing homes. Mr. Hollis loved his family. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking, especially crafting walking sticks. He was preceded in death by his parents.
