Obituary of Jackie Hill
Graveside services for Jackie Hill, age 73, of Wedowee will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Cedarwood Cemetery with Bro. Tim Whaley officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:45 PM on Tuesday before services begin.
Mr. Hill passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Survivors include: one daughter, Jacquelyn Davis of Roanoke; one son, Jeremy Hill (Stacey) of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Jacey Leigh Hill and Kaley Paige Hill; and two sisters, Kathy Nixon (Phillip) and Susan Hill, both of Atlanta, GA.
Pallbearers will be Heath Hill, Wesley Hill, Chance Hill, Phillip Nixon, Jakob Nixon, and Cody Hodges.
A Roanoke native, Mr. Hill was born on November 15, 1950, the son of Douglas Poet and Selma Alsabrook Hill. He worked for Batson & Cook where he installed slashers for fabric and was able to travel all across the United States and Europe for his job. Mr. Hill enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandbabies who lovingly called him “Pops.” He loved Alabama football, fishing in Lake Wedowee, and watching westerns on TV. Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents, his lifelong companion, Donna Hodges Hill, his wife, Jane Hill; and two brothers, Poet Hill and William Hill.
