Funeral services for Jimmie Esther Hodge Fetner, 92, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM Central Time at Roanoke Church of Christ with Bros. Ross Fetner and Gerald Romine officiating. Interment will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan, GA with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM Central Time before services begin on Saturday.
Mrs. Fetner passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at her home.
Survivors include her daughter, Lissa Kaplan (Marty) of Newnan; three sons, Virgil Fetner, Jr. (Denise) of Mobile, Lancy Fetner (Patsy) of Whitesburg, GA, and Joel Fetner (Cathy) Of Wadley; one sister, Gladys Shockley of Alex City; 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Fetner’s grandsons: Matthew Fetner, Ben Fetner, Graham Fetner, Nathan Fetner, Luke Fetner, and Ross Fetner. Jason Fetner will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
A Camp Hill, AL native, Mrs. Fetner was born on October 9, 1931, the daughter of Ben Ager and Lula Texas Brooks Hodge. She was a model Christian and a faithful member of Roanoke Church of Christ. Mrs. Fetner had worked as a teacher’s assistant for Coweta County, GA School Systems and as a church secretary for Betta View Hills Church of Christ in Calhoun County. She was a loving Mama and Granny to her family. Mrs. Fetner enjoyed sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Handley Virgil Fetner, Sr.; and six siblings.
