Funeral services for Sherry Daniel, age 71, of Roanoke, will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Rock Mills Church of the Nazarene with Bros. Greg Norred and Frank Foster, Jr. officiating. Quattlebaum Funeral Home is charge of arrangements.    

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. before services begin on Wednesday.

Ms. Daniel passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023, at her residence. 

She is survived by: a daughter, Tina Trigg (Billy) of Roanoke; two sons, Greg Daniel (Gina) and Scotty Daniel (Renee); seven grandchildren, Autumn Trigg (Shannon), Summer Trigg (Josh), Winter Trigg (Phillip), Matthew Daniel (Rebekah), Jacob Daniel (Maegan), Connor Daniel and Haley Daniel; five great-grandchildren, Atticus Duffey, twins Doll and Dude Duffey, Wylder Mulkey and Novalee Myers.

Pallbearers will be Dewayne Foster, Rusty Guizar, Fred Frank, Nick Burke, David Vollenweider, and Larry Brown.

An Arlington, VA native, Ms. Daniel was born April 8, 1952, the daughter of Marion H. and Martha Lorene Gore Foster. She had worked as an apprentice at Eucal’s Cutters before leaving to focus on her family as a housewife. Ms. Daniel was Christian by faith and was a member of the Rock Mills Church of the Nazarene. She loved her family and loved swimming with her grandchildren. Ms. Daniel had a wonderful sense of humor which came through in many ways, including her fascination with aliens. She loved the Lord and her church family. Ms. Daniel’s faith held strong despite her cancer diagnosis; this was evident in her adopting the mantra “The Anchor Holds” throughout her journey.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Joyce Akins; brother, Mickey Foster; grandson, Jonathan Daniel; and great-grandson, Radley Duffey.
