Obituary of Richard H. Fetner
Richard Howell Fetner Sr. was born on August 2, 1954. He was the son of James Howell and Annie Fetner. He was the loving and supportive father of Richie (Melissa) Fetner of Roanoke, Charlie (Charlyne) Fetner of Wadley, & Farrah Costley of Wadley. He adored his grandchildren: Samantha (Zack) Baggett, Trey (Shannon) Fetner, Megan (Cale) Mitcham, Lindsey & Lowery Franklin, Dakota (Hannah) Pike, Robert (Lilly) & Brianna Elkins. His great grandchildren brought him much joy; Ryker, Reese, Scarlett, Wrenlee, Alister & Lennon Lee.
Richard was currently employed at Integrity Cabinets. He enjoyed working and those that he met through past employers including J.L.M Company, Wellborn Cabinets, Probilt, and Tru Cabinets. He loved his community and surrounding counties. Serving as Mayor Pro-tem, councilman, and county commissioner, and helping many others in their political campaigns were just some of the ways he involved himself in civil activities to better his fellow man. In his free time, he enjoyed yard work and searching for old treasures at auctions.
His family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11am until 1:30 pm on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. A memorial service will begin at the Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery at 3084 Louina Road, Roanoke, AL 36274.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Fetner Jr., John Fetner, Jeff Fetner, Tucker Pritchett, Rhett Fetner, Ty Fetner, Austin Fetner, Justin Fetner, Johnathan Fetner, Keith Richardson, and Kyle Richardson. He was an avid and faithful supporter of the Randolph County Learning Center.
