Obituary of Doris P. Culbertson

Funeral Services for Doris P. Culbertson, age 88, of Roanoke, will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church with Bro. Larry McDaniel and Bro. Tripp Foster officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery. Mrs. Culbertson will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 2. 

Mrs. Culbertson passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023, at her home.

Survivors include her two daughters, Vickie Allen of Gulf Shores, AL, and Tina Jenkins (David) of Franklin, TN; two sons, Darrell Crowder (Margaret) of Ragland, AL, and Dwayne Culbertson of Roanoke; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ellowese Fetner (Charles) and Janice Jones (Dale), both of Roanoke, AL.; brother, Clinton Puckett (Marty) of Valley, AL.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be members of Fellowship Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Culbertson was born on January 20, 1935, the daughter of John Douglas and Annie Freeman Puckett. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, worked as a seamstress for Franklin Clothes and was retired from Palm Beach Company. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Lonnie William Culbertson “Mr. C”; daughter-in-law, Brenda Culbertson; brother, Burlon Puckett; and sister-in-law, Hazel Puckett.
