Obituary of Robert "R. V." Moore
Funeral Services for Robert Vance “RV” Moore, age 72, of Wadley will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Mountain Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Sprayberry and Bro. Larry Conger officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Church Cemetery, in Bluff Springs, with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 15, from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Mr. Moore passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, at Wellstar Hospital in LaGrange, Georgia.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Moore; daughters, Kristin Wilson of Roanoke, Ala. and Robin Hodges of Wadley, Ala.; grandchildren, Gage Hodges (Kayla), Kara Leigh Goode, Taylor Wilson, Tinsley Allen, and Jaxtyn Wilson; great-grandchildren, Grayson Hodges, Anastasia Hodges, Jayden Bocanegra, Aubree Beaver, and Lilly Beaver; sisters, Wilma Christian (Tim) of Dahlonega, GA., Joyce Kraus of Opelika, Ala., Gaye Nann Carter (R Michael) of Tucker, GA., and Jan Taylor (Don) of Sylacauga, Ala.; and brothers, Charlie Moore (Bonnie) of Opelika, Ala., Danny Moore of Lineville, Ala., Joel Moore of Lineville, Ala., Terry Moore of Lineville, Ala., and Phillip Moore of Seale, Ala.
Mr. Moore was born in Ashland, Alabama, on December 3, 1950, the son of George Moore and Lavada Griffin Moore. He was a member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church and was a talented music enthusiast. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, and golfing. He had a successful career in Computer Engineering, which included an Essence Project for the United States Department of Defense. He also worked for the Justice Department, the Pentagon, and multiple industries such as Hughes Aircraft where he helped in the development of thermal and night vision. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Andy Moore; brother, Sammy Moore; and nephew, Christopher Moore.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
