Obituary of Michael Eugene Ussery
Funeral Services for Michael Eugene Ussery, age 64, of Roanoke will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dalton Hammock officiating. Burial will follow at Prospect Methodist Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, March 13.
Mr. Ussery passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Bassett Ussery; sons, Timothy Ussery of Valley, Ala. and Thomas Ussery of Chambers County, Ala.; step-son, Timothy Lowery of Beulah, Ala.; his father, Jasper Eugene Ussery; two grandchildren, Cheyenne Ussery and Bryleigh Lowery; close friend, Teresa Kirby; sisters, Shelia Boyd of Bacon Level, Ala. and Regina Jackson of Roanoke, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Lee Bennett, Kim Bassett, Jacob Daniel, Alex Rider, and Chris Jackson.
Mr. Ussery was born in Fort Sheridan, IL, on November 19, 1958, the son of Jasper Eugene Ussery and Lela Laverne Stephens Ussery. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Valley and worked over 25 years as a maintenance supervisor at West Point Pepperell. He was an avid tv-watcher, mainly sci-fi, and he loved watching Al Bundy on Married With Children. In his free time, he enjoyed doing mechanical work on diesel motors, particularly bulldozers. He was preceded in death by his mother; and brother, Jason Ussery.
