I have so many childhood memories of Aunt Doris, my Mother, and me. We spent many afternoons visiting with Aunt Doris and I always found so much outside to entertain me. Her yards were beautiful, there were cats to hold and play with, a barn to play in. And of course Aunt Doris always had something freshly baked and insisted on feeding me a snack which was always delicioius. Lots of times Mother and Aunt Doris would spend the afternoon stringing beans and I'd sit and listen to their stories and memories. So wish as I got older that I had written them down.
In early 2001 Mother, Aunt Doris, and I took a road trip to Jacksonville, FL to visit Mother's brother Durward's wife, LaHoma. We had so much fun on that trip. Aunt Doris and Mother laughed so much as did I.
She was a wonderful friend to my Mother and a wonderful Aunt to me. She will be missed.
