Obituary of Jerry Milford Mitchell

OBITUARY Funeral services for Jerry Milford Mitchell, age 65, of Roanoke, will be held Monday, June 4, 2012, at 2:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday. Mr. Mitchell died Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Wedowee Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ann Baldwin Mitchell of Roanoke; two daughters, Anita Mitchell McCain (Ricky) of Woodland and Kimberly Mitchell Coleman (Dwayne) of Roanoke; his mother, Jewell Mitchell of Roanoke; three brothers, Dewey Sears of Pell City, Larry Mitchell and Greg Mitchell, both of Roanoke; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Coleman, Cam Warren, John Warren, Kevin Warren, Kendle Bayliss and Robert Dobson. A long-time Roanoke resident, Mr. Mitchell was born February 28, 1947, at LaGrange, Georgia, the son of Elton and Hattie Jewell Sears Mitchell. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and had been a maintenance technician with Kimberly Clark. After retirement, he owned and operated Grandaddy's Music in Roanoke.
