Obituary of Runita Sue Weldon

Runita Sue Weldon, age 61, of Lanett, formerly of Roanoke, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

The family will receive friends at Quattlebaum Funeral Home from 1:00 to 3:00 pm (Central time) on Monday, December 12, 2022. 

Survivors include one daughter, Brandi Michelle Weldon of West Point, Ga.; two sons, Jeremy Keith Walker (Brandy) of Troy and Kenneth Michael Brown (Mandy) of Valley; nine grandchildren, Tori Hall, Meagan Brown, Tyler Walker, Hunter Walker, Bentley Walker, Grace Walker, Alanna Weldon, Sofia Weldon and Saydee Weldon; one great-grandson, Elias Hall; her father, Joe Woodley of Roanoke; one sister, Vickie Cummings (Steve) of Alex City; many nieces and nephews.

Ms. Weldon was born March 13, 1961, in Anniston, Alabama, the daughter of Lloyd and Ruth Owens Brown.  She was a nurse and had been employed with West Georgia Medical Center.  She loved her family, God, working in her garden and was always helping others.  Ms. Weldon was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Brown and Ruth Brown Woodley; one brother, Wayne Brown; three sisters, Patricia Ann Kaylor, Deborah Vaughn and Lynn Woody.

Although her children are grieving, they know she has left the pain of this world to be reunited with the ones who went before her.  

There will be no public services.
