Obituary of Maria Elena Hand
Maria Elena Hand, age 72, of Roanoke, AL passed away on December 5, 2022, in LaGrange, GA.
Survivors include her husband, James Hand; step-daughters, Amanda Camp (Roger) of Lincoln, Ala., Christie Burks (Tony) of Roanoke, Ala., Katherine Jo Shields of Daviston, Ala., and Erin Hand of Rock Mills, Ala.; son, Matthew Shields of Roanoke, Ala.; thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and brother, Johnnie Walls (Sharon) of Blue Springs, MO.
Mrs. Hand was born in Bakersfield, California on May 16, 1950. She is the daughter of Johnnie Clay and Carmen Magdelina Garcia Walls. Mrs. Hand was Christian by faith and worked in Environmental Services at Traylor’s Nursing Home. She enjoyed crochet, cooking, and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jesse Walls and Frank Walls; and sister, Nanette Walls.
